In September 2019 we signed a partnership agreement with Outward Bound Trust (OBT) to help improve social mobility in the communities we work in by supporting the residential courses OBT run to help give young people transferable skills.
Our three-year £1m partnership will enable us to help 2,400 young people through the funding of residential courses with the aim of supporting children near to our developments. As part of the residential courses, we will be able to place 82 employee ambassadors on the courses as mentors over the three years which will act as a personal development activity.
From 2020 onwards, OBT also run our annual Big Barratt Hike event. They manage the event which includes providing fundraising support, looking at different locations and event management support. Our teams then fundraise for OBT in return.
