Penistone School welcomes helping hands

The team at the new Barratt and David Wilson Homes in Sheffield got stuck into a day’s volunteering at Hoylandswaine Primary School in Penistone. The team came to give the school a helping hand with painting the year one and year two classrooms. They also supplied the paint and equipment to help give the classrooms a fresh look.

Ian Goddard, headteacher at Hoylandswaine Primary School, said: “We are so grateful that they have been able to help us decorate, the children will be so excited when they come back to see their rooms looking better than ever. This has also meant that the money we have saved in paint can now be used to buy more resources for the school.”

Gary Chambers, managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Sheffield, said “As a leading housebuilder we strive to support the communities in and around the areas in which we build and we’re delighted to be able to help the school with its redecorating. We know how important the classroom environment is for learning, and we hope the staff and pupils at the school enjoy the newly decorated rooms.”
