We were approached by the Friends of the Tenth charity to help fund a new memorial to the fallen soldiers of the Tenth Battalion, the Parachute Regiment. There are clear links between us and ‘The Tenth’, not least of which is that they are based in Leicestershire, at Somerby, where the Battalion was stationed in the lead-up to a fateful drop behind enemy lines in the Battle of Arnhem in 1944.

We contributed £20,000 to the building of the memorial sculpture, and put them in touch with a local supplier who provided soil remediation and landscaping for free. In September 2019 they organised a very moving ceremony attended by hundreds of ex Paratroopers where the stone sculpture was finally unveiled after many years of hard work and fundraising from the charity.
