Barratt Foundation appoints independent Trustees Mark Rolfe and Lord Gavin Barwell

The Barratt Foundation has announced two new independent Trustees to sit on the Foundation’s board alongside the existing four other Barratt Trustees. The new independent Trustees are Lord Gavin Barwell and Mark Rolfe.

Lord Barwell served as Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister from June 2017 to July 2019. He was the Member of Parliament for Croydon Central from May 2010 until June 2017 and a Government Minister from October 2013 until June 2017 (initially a Whip and then Minister of State for Housing & Planning and Minister for London). In October 2019, he was appointed to the House of Lords.

Mark Rolfe is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and an experienced Non-Executive Director. He was Finance Director of Gallaher Group Plc (2000-2007); a Non-Executive Director of The Sage Group plc (2007-2013), Hornby plc (2008-2014), Barratt Developments PLC (2008-2016) and Debenhams plc (2010-2018); and Chairman of Lane, Clark & Peacock LLP (2008-2014).

Chief Executive of Barratt Developments and Trustee of the Barratt Foundation, David Thomas, said: “We are delighted to have Mark Rolfe and Lord Barwell join the Barratt Foundation as independent Trustees, providing vast experience and expertise. They will strengthen the Foundation, giving us independent counsel alongside strategic advice.”
